Speaking from experience, MBE is awful! Yes they charge you a hideous markup. Yes they hire morons. Yes they do a terrible job. I had a friend drop off a pristine condition fender at an MBE to be shipped to me. He handed it to them, the shipping bill was $120! I get it 5 days later - and the box they put the fender in was smaller than the fender itself!! The fender had 2 big creases in it where it had been rested on the wrong end, and bent under it's own weight. That was *SIX MONTHS AGO* and I still haven't received an insurance check from them. First they tried to make an insurance claim with UPS, even though the fender was improperly packed and the box was clearly undamaged. Then they dragged their feet on the whole issue. Then they tried to offer me $60 for the fender. SIXTY DOLLARS - I paid them twice that in shipping costs alone!! They said "oh. we don't refund the shipping costs." I /finally/ spoke directly to their (3rd party) insurance underwriters who were very helpful and resolved the issue to my satisfaction within a week. (still haven't seen the check, though) This leads me to believe that the MBE people were just screwing around that whole time. And for SIX MONTHS they've had a 91 Aztec Red fender sitting in their store, not like they could forget about me!!! Can you tell I think they suck??? ARggghhhh!!!
